Dr. Richard Brownlee is a neurosurgeon who oversees the multi-disciplinary team that diagnoses and treats pain at the Welcome Back Upright MRI, Pain Management and Regenerative Medicine Clinic. He has a special interest in neck and back pain, two of the most common sites of chronic pain. Dr. Brownlee has trained extensively in spinal surgery techniques and has taken courses to keep him and the Clinic’s team up-to-date on the most technologically advanced protocols as they diagnose pain and develop treatment plans for clients. He is also associated with the Kamloops Surgical Centre where he provides expedited interventions for surgically treatable conditions.
Dr. Brownlee is a neurosurgeon and Chief of Surgery at Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops, where he has worked since 1996. He received his medical degree from the University of Calgary in 1990 where he continued in, and completed a Neurosurgery specialty in 1996. He received certification from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (FRCSC) in 1996 and obtained American Board certification in Neurosurgery in 2002.
Dr. Brownlee is originally from Ontario where he received his Bachelor and Master’s degrees from the University of Western Ontario and the University of Toronto in 1985 and 1991 respectively.
Sheri is a Program Coordinator at the Welcome Back Upright MRI, Pain Management and Regenerative Medicine Clinic . Sheri enjoys working with her clients at all levels of their care. She works hard to make sure the information necessary for her clients is kept up to date and passed onto them quickly and accurately. Sheri also works with the Clinic staff to ensure her client's rehabilitation and recovery schedule runs smoothly and allows them to return to a pain-free life as soon as possible.
Dr. Scott Hughes graduated from the University of Toronto with a Medical Doctorate in 2007, and from the Orthopaedic Surgery Residency program from the University of British Columbia. He is a fellow of the University of Manitoba and specializes in sports arthroscopy, upper extremity reconstruction, and trauma.
If part of a client’s assessment includes an image in the Centre’s Upright MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging), Randy is the Welcome Back Upright MRI, Pain Management and Regenerative Medicine Clinic’s team member who will ensure the client is comfortable and relaxed while undergoing this safe, non-invasive scan.
His many years of imaging experience ensure that all the Centre’s MRI images are clear and complete. Randy graduated from BCIT in 1989 and prior to joining the Centre’s staff, worked in imaging services at Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops for more than 19 years. He has extensive experience in x-ray imaging, including CT scanning.

Dr. Robyn Stanley (Prescott) grew up with a naturopathic lifestyle. As a child, she looked forward to visiting her naturopathic doctor and appreciated the highly individualized care. Her passion to provide that same exceptional care and guidance to help her patients discover the root cause of their health concerns is what drove Dr. Stanley (Prescott) to become a naturopathic physician. She is very passionate about creating a safe, connected, and inspiring atmosphere where her patients can work through the healing process.
Dr. Stanley (Prescott) received her medical degree from the Boucher Institute of Naturopathic medicine in 2014 where she graduated with the prestigious Spirit of Boucher award acknowledging her for outstanding commitment to both the community and academics. For the past five years Dr. Stanley (Prescott) has operated her own successful private practice in North Vancouver, BC before relocating to Kamloops, BC.
Dr. Stanley (Prescott)'s practice focuses on pain management, personal health optimization, and hormone balancing for all individuals. With an extensive passion for physical medicine Dr. Stanley (Prescott) has spent many years perfecting injection therapy techniques and currently holds certification in PRP, neural therapy, therapeutic and cosmetic botox and is one of the few naturopathic physicians in Canada to perform injections under ultrasound guidance.
Dr. Stanley (Prescott) is active in BC with presentations for the public on various topics as well as she has written for Alive Magazine, NSMBA, and Mountain Bike for Her. She has also been an advanced physical medicine instructor for the Boucher Institute of Naturopathic Medicine in Vancouver, BC.

He sees patients with pain involving the shoulder, elbow, wrist, hand, knees and hips including joint replacement surgery. He provides non-surgical treatment including injections with Hyaluronic acid, corticosteroids and N stride autologous proteins.
Dr. Butterwick grew up in the small manufacturing town of St. Thomas, Ontario. He then obtained an Undergraduate Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from the University of Western Ontario. Dr. Butterwick later moved to Ottawa for nearly a decade to obtain a Doctorate of Medicine in 2008 and complete a five-year Orthopedic Surgery Residency in 2013, both at the University of Ottawa. He holds Fellowship Certificates for subspecialty training in Orthopedic Trauma from the University of Ottawa, Foot and Ankle Reconstruction from the University of British Columbia and Hip and Knee Arthroplasty from the University of Toronto. His elective practice focuses on each element of his fellowship training. In his spare time, he is an avid mountain biker, snowboarder and budding backcountry enthusiast.
The Welcome Back Clinic is pleased to introduce Morris Boyer. Morris has been an Athletic Therapist for the past 30 years. Morris received his Bachelor of Physical Education from the University of Alberta, is certified by the Canadian Athletic Therapy Association, and continually strives to improve his skills with various professional development courses. Morris has worked with the Calgary Flames, focusing on first response, injury prevention, and rehabilitation. He has also worked with Hockey Canada’s Men’s Team, the Canadian Men’s Volleyball Team, the Canadian Professional Rodeo Sports Medicine Team, and more.
Morris has also worked in the private sector. As a clinical therapist focusing on rehabilitation and preventive medicine with a subspeciality in custom knee braces.
Morris enjoys the challenge of assessing injuries and identifying musculoskeletal dysfunction. His treatment style has a strong focus on exercise, addressing poor biomechanical movement patterns and imbalances in strength and flexibility. He loves educating his patients and always provides custom home exercise programs.
